She talks about how she is new in the gaming industry, so what made her join a game jam, along with other Malaysian game developers?
Do you have any experience in game jams?
No, I don't. I don't even have game development experience. This will be my first (hopefully not my last) game jam.
Why ARE you joining Ludum Dare?
I've always liked taking on challenges, and since I've wanted to learn some basics to game development, it would be a stepping stone for me to know how that works.
Besides learning new skills, understanding the game development process would help me create and portray better content for the public, regardless of whether they're for a meme or educational purposes. What better way to learn than to take up a challenge and dive in head first?
What would you say to anyone who's thinking of joining game jams?
I think.. Don't be afraid? If you want to join one, do it. Once you enter it, you'd force yourself to up your game anyways! So think of this as an opportunity to learn and grow. If you fail, then learn from it and try again.
